Frequently Asked Questions
-
Most people begin with weekly or biweekly sessions, as consistency up front helps build momentum and allows us to make progress and establish a therapeutic relationship. As we meet your goals, sessions may transition to less frequently based on your needs.

My fee is $160 for a 50-minute therapy session.
I am currently in-network with Aetna and am able to bill Aetna directly for covered services. For all other insurance plans, I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill those insurance companies directly. I can provide you with a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network benefits. I also accept health savings account (HSA) payments.
If you have questions or concerns about fees, insurance, or payment, I'd be happy to discuss them during your free consultation.

The first session is an opportunity for us to establish a therapeutic relationship. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your history, your strengths, and what you hope to achieve. I'll also answer any questions you have and work with you to develop a plan that feels like it gives you a sense of hope. I realize most of life is lived outside of the therapeutic space, so my hope is to always give you something to take with you to apply during your upcoming week.

I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and accepted. My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and grounded in evidence-based care. While I believe healing begins with understanding—not simply "fixing"—I also believe therapy should equip you with tangible tools, meaningful mindset shifts, and practical strategies you can apply in your everyday life. Together, we'll work to better understand what's keeping you stuck, build resilience, strengthen your confidence, and help you move toward the life you want to live with greater compassion, intention, and hope.

Most therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. This provides enough time to explore concerns, build skills, and make meaningful progress.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer. Some clients benefit from a few months of therapy focused on a specific concern, while others choose longer-term support as they navigate life's challenges. We will regularly discuss your goals and progress together.

Many people come to therapy hoping their problems will disappear overnight. While healing takes time, you'll begin learning practical tools right away, and I always hope to leave you with something to take away and apply into the week ahead.

Absolutely. I believe parents and caregivers play an important role in the therapy process, and I strive to approach treatment from a collaborative, family systems perspective.
At the beginning of most sessions, I invite parents to join us for a brief check-in to share updates or areas to address. At the end, I typically provide a short summary and discuss ways to support your child at home, as long as your child is comfortable with what is being shared.
My goal is to balance parent involvement with creating a safe, trusting space where your child feels free to be open and honest. The level of parent participation may vary depending on your child's age, needs, and treatment goals.
Beginning therapy often comes with questions, and that's a natural part of the process. Below are answers to some of the questions I am most frequently asked during an initial consultation. My hope is that this information helps you feel informed, at ease, and more confident as you consider taking the next step.
